Investments
Our first investment was Northwoods Business Park, a 90-acre tract of industrial land located north of the Charlotte CBD, which we purchased in 1989. From that modest beginning, Beacon has leveraged opportunities and developed or acquired more than 10 million square feet of commercial space with an estimated value of more than $500 million.

- 1990: Developed Northwoods Business Park.
- 1991: Completed first build-to-suit project – a 5,600 SF industrial facility for Perkem Technology.
- 1992: Developed 3 build-to-suit projects in Northwoods.
- 1993: Developed first multi-tenant industrial facility totaling 118,000 SF.
- 1994: Developed first bulk distribution facility, totaling 232,000 SF.
- 1995: Developed Long Creek Business Park and completed first two buildings, totaling 527,000 SF of distribution space.
- 1996: Constructed a 157,000 SF building for Office Depot.
- 1997: Developed first project outside Charlotte – a 128,000 distribution facility in Greenville, SC.
- 1998: Developed a 232,000 SF warehouse for Bonded Distribution.
- 1999: Made first project acquisition – NorthRidge Business Center, a 175,000 SF flex property.
- 2000: Completed 120,000 SF flex project in Raleigh-Durham and developed first Class A office building – One Harris Corners, totaling 100,000 SF.
- 2001: Developed Two Harris Corners, a Class A office building, totaling 130,000 SF.
- 2002: Acquired Atando Business Park, a 963,000 SF warehouse portfolio.
- 2003: Completed 4 office/flex acquisitions in Charlotte and Raleigh, totaling 683,000 SF.
- 2004: Acquired first project in Southwest Charlotte – Atrium Corporate Center, a 151,800 SF office park.
- 2005: Developed first commercial sub-division – Wilkinson Park Business Center, 4 warehouse/distribution buildings, totaling 80,000 SF.
- 2006: Acquired One North Commerce Center in Raleigh – a single story office/flex park, totaling 290,000 SF.
- 2007: Developed first retail center – Shoppes at Harris Corners. 2008: Completed 4 commercial sub-division projects throughout the Charlotte Region.
- 2008: Completed 4 commercial sub-division projects throughout the Charlotte Region.
- 2009: Developed Phase II of 77 Overlook, two warehouse facilities totaling 104,294 SF.
- 2010: Developed a 64,637 SF Research & Development Facility for Husqvarna.
