In 1989, Beacon assembled approximately 90 acres of land along W. WT Harris Boulevard, a key thoroughfare in North Charlotte. The site had an excellent location in a growing area of the city that was underserved by quality business parks. Plans called for providing tracts to users for purchase or lease. We also hoped to construct build-to-suit projects for companies desiring to lease their buildings as well as multi-tenant space to lease for smaller users. Significant roadwork and utility infrastructure improvements were designed and completed, and Northwoods Business Park opened in November of 1990.Northwoods Business Park Quick Facts:
- A 90-acre, business park located in North Charlotte, consisting of 15 buildings totaling +800,000 SF.
- The park includes 4 multi-tenant flex and warehouse buildings that were built speculatively and leased by Beacon, 6 build-to-suit projects developed by Beacon and 5 land sales to companies who subsequently constructed their own facilities.
- Occupants include Cintas, Classic Graphics, Diebold, Iron Mountain and Scholastic Book Fairs
